Monarch Scales is the first dive-in of a Monarch butterfly wing revealing its intricate scales and structure. The soundscape contains recordings of various locations on the path of the Monarch migration from Canada to Mexico.
We created the animation from images taken with different lenses and microscopes, including an electron microscope.

This sequence was included in the 2021 Sloan Prize winning feature Son of Monarchs, on which Attilio Rigotti worked as an assistant editor.

Like lava from a volcano, the impulse manifests itself in the human body in actions that can be read clearer than words. El Impulso is a meditation on the physical aspects of the work of the Havana-based company Teatro Impulso and the ideas of founder and director Alexis Díaz de Villegas.

Dynamics is a micro short film that experiments with juxtaposing everyday materials filmed under a microscope with full-scale footage of quotidian, mundane moments. The microscopic footage creates unusual visuals with an organic feel,while the motion patterns in these clips are also reminiscent of people moving about in different social settings.
The film was created by Orsolya Szantho in 2016 and premiered at the 2017 Imagine Science Film Festival in Abu Dhabi.
